Parma First Time Home Buyer Down Payment Assistance - This program provides down payment assistance of up to 10% of the purchase price, maximum $10,000, for first time home buyers. Funds are very limited this year and are expected to go very quickly. Applications are now being accepted (begining Jan 2010).
UPDATE- As of mid-February 2010 funds were exhausted.

  The NEW Federal Tax Credit - $8,000 tax credit for first time home buyers or persons who have not had ownership in a home for 3 years previous to the purchase date.
 

Changes to the Federal Homebuyer Tax Credit - President Obama signed an extension of the first-time homebuyers tax credit on November 6, 2009.  The program has been extended through 4/30/10 and it's been expanded to include current homeowners.
New Homebuyer Tax Credit Form Available - Good news homebuyers: You can file for your $8,000 first-time buyer tax credit again.

  OHFA Ohio Heroes Program - Ohio heroes make a difference in our lives by working hard in critical jobs every day. OHFA is proud to offer all the benefits of their First-Time Homebuyer Program to Ohio¿s heroes at a 1/4% lower interest rate. The Ohio Heroes Program is available to the following full-time employees who are: Active Military, Active Reserve, Veterans, Firefighters, Emergency Medical Technicians, Paramedics, Health Care Workers, Police Officers, and Teachers.
  OHFA Down Payment Assistance Grant - If paying for a down payment and closing costs have kept you from getting into a home of your own, OHFA's Down Payment Assistance Grant may be able to help. Eligible borrowers participating in the First-Time Homebuyer Program, Target Area Loan Program, and Ohio Heroes Program can use the grant to greatly reduce the out-of-pocket expenses associated with buying a home.
